Michigan June Wedding at Post Family Farms | Haley & Derek

Haley and Derek were married on a hot summer day at Post Family Farm in Hudsonville, Michigan this past Friday. It was a perfect venue with a modern country feel. They shared their amazing day with all their family and friends and it was such a happy celebration!

We arrived shortly before the couple to take photos of the amazing space. The ceremony was set up on a hill under a white arch with a waterfall cascading down the hill. There were flowers everywhere. The landscaping was immaculate! The reception was outside under a large U-shaped awning with twinkly lights.

Haley and her bridesmaids were the first to arrive and went into their nicely air-conditioned bridal suite where they continued to get ready. Derek and his groomsmen were not far behind and got settled into the groom’s shed not too far away.

Haley requested a first look with her dad and before the ceremony, so we set her dad up in front of the black and white farm doors of the barn. She slowly walked to him and as he turned to see her his face lit up and they hugged and shared a few laughs.

Haley's dress from Intimate Bridal was stunning with spaghetti straps and a deep V neckline with sparkly lace and a long train. Her florals and bouquet from Weesie's in Montague, MI were gorgeous with white and blush hints and lots of greenery. Derek looked dapper in his light khaki dress pants with leather suspenders and a floral tie. Everyone was looking their absolute best and just in time for the ceremony!

The ceremony was perfect! The officiant was great! He told us stories of how the couple met at a bowling alley and how they’ve grown together so well. Haley and Derek also took part in a sand ceremony where they poured different shades of blue sand into a photo box. So sweet!

The reception was so fun! Haley and Derek’s wedding was one of the larger weddings we have had so it wasn’t a surprise that it was an absolute party but before I get to that let’s talk about the food! Their wedding was catered by Mission BBQ and it was delicious! They had BBQ shredded chicken and brisket with mac and cheese, coleslaw, salad, baked beans, and mashed potatoes. For dessert they had the Post Family Farm specialty, DONUTS! And they were very yummy!

Now back to the party. It was so much fun! Probably our favorite part was that Haley, and her bridesmaids had a couple pairs of sunglasses that they had written H+D on one side and their wedding date on the other. We passed them around to everyone at the reception and took photos of everyone wearing them! The photos came out amazing and really captured the energy of the reception!

As everyone danced the night away, we said our goodbyes and wished the couple the very best for the future! Congratulations Haley and Derek! Your wedding was definitely one for the books!
