Michigan Summer Wedding at Alden Orchards | Emily & Ben
Updated: Jun 2
We had the pleasure of photographing the sweetest couple this past weekend! Emily and Ben were married in Lowell, Michigan at the beautiful Alden Orchards. The orchard is home to a large historic barn, an open air pavilion, and a stunning Victorian Inn where up to 10 guests can stay. A truly breathtaking venue!

Though it rained most of the day that didn't stop us from making the most of it and embracing the rain to create some artistic portraits! Emily and Ben handled the rain with grace and had the best attitude which made our job easy! It's always so important to have a plan b if you are getting married outside and lucky for us Emily and Ben had just that! The rain also allowed for us to pull out the clear umbrella, which made for a practical yet whimsical accessory.
The couple used the Victorian farm house to get ready before the ceremony. Emily and her five bridesmaids were downstairs in the bridal suite, while Ben was upstairs with his five groomsmen. We set up a first look for Emily's dad and bridesmaids. It was very emotional with lots of tears shed! Her dad had the best reaction. He held his hands to his face in awe of his beautiful daughter. Such a sweet moment!
The ceremony was held under the pavilion with lots of twinkly lights and the beautiful orchards that surrounded the area. Faith played a big part in their ceremony as they were married by their family pastor.
During our photo session with the bridal party, guests were served hors devours and drinks served by With A Twist bar services. The reception was held inside the large barn where candles warmed up the reception with touches of lavender and greenery. There was light peaking through the wooden slats in the barn that created an unforgettable backdrop for the couples first dance. And I cannot forget to mention the NINE crystal chandeliers that hung from the barns ceiling. Stunning! After a delicious dinner of Mediterranean style tacos catered by Luna Restaurant in Grand Rapids the dancing began! PrimeNRG was amazing and really knew how to get the crowd dancing! They were also great with communication!
Emily and Ben wanted to end the night with a sparkler send off! With the help of the DJ we had the guests meet us out in front of the barn and lined them up on either side of the barn doors. Everyone lite their sparklers and we sent the couple through. So fun! We ended the night with an short, but intimate sparkler session by the many twinkly lights that hung outside.
You could tell how much this couple love each other and how they truly are each other's best friend. Emily and Ben, it was such an honor to be apart of your day and we wish you guys the best for your future together!
Congratulations guys!
