Timeless Lake Michigan Wedding on Portage Lake, MI | Jordan & Zack

Jordan and Zack had a gorgeous Lake Michigan wedding this past weekend at Portage Point Resort in Onekama, Michigan!

We met up with Jordan and her bridesmaids in the cutest little cottage across the street from the resort. We started with photographing the details. Jordans dress from True Society located in Grand Rapids, MI was flowy at the bottom and sparkly with lace at the top. So pretty! Her bridesmaids wore long flowy sage-colored dresses that were all a little different. They suited each of her bridesmaids so well! We wanted to try something new for the details this time around, so we also gathered Zack's details too, to add them into the same photo. The cottage had an abundance of cute beachy décor including some pretty sea glass, so we added a few pieces into the detail shots.

After all the getting ready photos, we took Jordan and Zack (in separate cars) down to Lake Michigan which was about a two-minute drive down the road to have their first look. It was a bit chilly down by the lake and it had just finished sprinkling but man, was it gorgeous by the water! We walked Zack down to the beach and had him face the lake as I went to go get Jordan. She walked to him and touched his shoulder. When he turned around, he had the biggest smile on his face! You could tell how excited and maybe a little nervous they were. We had them take a little moment together to take a couple deep breaths and then took some stunning beach photos of the couple before returning them to their ceremony.

Their ceremony was outside overlooking Portage Bay. The aisle way was lined with pretty white chairs and their arbor was a hexagon with white flowers and greenery on either side. The ceremony was very touching. The officiant Wendy from Weddings Your Way was very thoughtful with her words and spoke very highly of the couple. Zack and Jordan wrote their own vows, and they were beautiful and unique to each other. After the ceremony cocktail hour began and we started the bridal party photos by the bay and marina.

The reception was held inside the resort and was beautiful! The room was bright and full of windows with light wood accents and light blue walls. There were lots of pretty chandeliers and the center pieces were several vases full of greenery and white flowers by Chalet Floral located in Muskegon, MI. Very classy and timeless. The food from Gloria Ann' s Catering was delicious! There was roast beef and salmon with pasta, cheesy mashed potatoes, green beans, and mixed veggies. Yum! Dessert was great too! They had yummy cupcakes and mini cheesecakes!

After dinner the dancing began! The DJ from Bee Entertainment announced the couple as they made their way to the dance floor for their first dance which was so cute and special! DJ Jason was amazing by the way! He was so helpful and kind throughout the day. Would definitely recommend them! After the dances they also participated in the anniversary dance which is one of my favorites! We then spoke to the DJ about trying something new… We had the bride and groom sit in chairs in the middle of the dancefloor then had the DJ announce that the guests can run up and grab a quick photo with the couple photo bomb style! We later heard from several guests how much they loved it and how fun it was!

With the dance floor now open the guests were having a great time and were very entertaining to watch dance, one couple in particular stole the dancefloor with their amazing dance moves and fun personality! By this time, it was close to sunset, and we wanted to take the couple back down to Lake Michigan for some sunset beach photos. When we got down there the sun was at the perfect spot! I believe that we created magic while we were down there. So pretty and serene! It was a beautiful wedding day for Jordan and Zack, and we wish them nothing but the best for their future together!

Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Riley!
