Trillium Creek Ludington, Michigan Sunflower Wedding | Bri & Paul

Updated: Jan 11

Paul and Bri were married at Trillium Creek Rustic Barn in Ludington, MI on a beautiful Saturday in August. The weather was perfect, and their wedding was an absolute dream!

When we arrived to the venue, we began photographing all the little details Bri and her family had put together. From her jewelry and bouquet to the party favors and centerpieces, you could tell they had put a lot of thought into the details! Their wedding was very country chic with beautiful greenery, mauve flowers, and a touch of western flair.

Bri was getting ready with her bridesmaids in the stunning 1920’s farm house on the venue's property. Her dress was breathtaking with a deep V in the back and a beautiful double layer of lace and sparkle on her long train. A few moments Bri wanted us to capture included a first look with dad and a first touch with her soon to be husband. We set up Bri’s first look with dad on the farmhouses wrap around porch. When he turned to look at his daughter, he told her how beautiful she looked, gave her a hug, and asked jokingly ‘’are you sure you want to go through with this because there’s still time to leave!’’. You could tell they have a very fun relationship! A little while later we set up the couples first touch. This is where the couple holds hands on either side of a corner to share a moment before the ceremony. This makes for an adorable picture and a sweet moment for the couple.

Next, we had some photography fun with Paul and his groomsmen. One of our favorite set ups is the beer race. The groom and groomsmen race to a beer can and the first one to the beer wins and then chugs the beer. This creates super fun photographs for the guys, and they can have a lot of fun with it. Bri and Paul also had their basset hound, Red Ford with them at the venue to be a part of their special day. Paul got Red ready to walk down the aisle with a matching bow tie and bandana that said ‘’I loved her first’’.

Their outdoor ceremony was held under a wooden arbor in front of a sunflower field. During the ceremony they both sealed a previously wrote letter to one another in a wooden box to open and read on their one-year anniversary. So sweet!

After the ceremony guests were welcomed to cocktail hour where there was a tap trailer from Greybeard Events with several beers on tap along with wines, and ciders. They also had a delicious array of fruits, vegetables, and cheeses inside the barn where the reception would take place.

The reception was held in the 100 year old barn that looked out onto a very large tented deck facing the field of sunflowers. After a delicious dinner of chicken and pork butt the couple shared their first dance and dances with their mother and father. Jeffrey Schildroth, the DJ is amazing to work with and always knows how to keep the party going! The dollar dance and one of my favorite dances, the anniversary dance were a hit! The last couple left dancing had been together for 55 years!

We ended the night with an amazing sunset session in the sunflowers and a photo in front of the barn with our new light up love sign! Bri and Paul’s wedding was a delight to shoot, and we wish them the absolute best for their future together!

Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Lombard!
